W. Julian Franklin

Julian hails from Atlanta, Georgia. He is the eldest of two sons and a 2004 graduate of Georgia Tech University.

Julian has been playing the drums since the tender age of three, and WOW, he can play! He has put in countless hours to perfect his gift and continues in his quest to do so. His musical resume is filled with numerous playing engagements that include some world-renowned players. He realized at an early age that his gift of playing drums was not of himself, and thanks God daily for the awesome anointing He has placed on his life.

Julian credits his parents, Warren and Sandra Franklin, for giving him the spiritual grounding and biblical direction that he now increases daily through his own personal faith in Jesus Christ. He knows that his gift is only possible because God chose to bless him abundantly. His spiritual upbringing occurred at the Wheat Street Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. He currently attends Victory Life Christian Center in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Marcellous A. Buckner. At VLCC, Julian serves as the Senior Television Engineer and exercises his talents s a drummer as well.

Julian and Marcy met several years ago in Northern Virginia. At the time, Julian was a student at Georgia Tech pursuing his Engineering degree. Marcy invited him to church and you're hearing the rest of the story! He has been a member of EKKLESIA since it began in the fall of 2001. His jazzy flair coupled with his own “personal cool” touch makes him an awesome and talented drummer—no question!

Julian lives by the words of Christ in Luke 12:48, “To whosoever much is given, to him much is required”. Julian is single and currently makes his home in the affluent Prince George's County Maryland.
